On the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of August, Youthalic proudly launched its first-ever Model United Nations conference in Madurai, marking a significant milestone in our journey to empower young minds with diplomacy, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Hosted with enthusiasm and excellence, the event brought together passionate delegates eager to debate, negotiate, and design solutions for the world’s pressing challenges.

The Opening Ceremony was graced by Mrs. Prema Latha Paneerselvam, Senior Principal, whose warm words set the tone for a conference filled with ambition and purpose. Mr. Sanjay A.R., Secretary General, formally declared the conference open, igniting three days of meaningful discussions.

Adding to the spirit of the day, the Guest of Honour, Adv. K. Samidurai, M.A., B.L., President of the Indian Lawyers Association, inspired the gathering with insights on justice and civic responsibility. Keynote Speaker Ms. Preetha V. Kannan, B.A. Psych., MMC, Writer, delivered a thought-provoking address, urging delegates to embrace their voices as tools for change.

In a symbolic gesture towards sustainability, the Youthalic team, dignitaries, and delegates also planted trees — a reminder that global responsibility begins with local action.

Over the three days, committee rooms came alive with passionate debates and creative solutions. Delegates demonstrated the values of diplomacy, collaboration, and leadership, embodying the true spirit of the United Nations.

The Closing Ceremony was an inspiring finale, with Mr. Tharun Kumar, IFS (Madurai District) and Dr. R. Beulah Jeyashree, Principal & Secretary of Lady Doak College, Madurai, honouring the outstanding delegates and sharing motivating words on service and excellence.

One of the most remarkable highlights was the Problem-Solving Session, where every participant contributed actionable ideas to address local challenges. After much deliberation, the winning proposal was chosen: installing Smart Bins outside the Meenakshi Amman Temple to enhance cleanliness and waste management. This project is now officially underway, turning debate-room discussions into real-world change.

The inaugural Youthalic MUN in Madurai was not just a conference — it was a movement. It proved that when given the right platform, young voices can inspire ideas, shape solutions, and take decisive steps toward a better tomorrow.
