History in the Making: The First Youthalic MUN at Springdays School, Vellore
History was made with the launch of the very first Youthalic Model United Nations (MUN), hosted at Springdays School, Vellore. With over 300 delegates in attendance, the two-day conference wasn't just a landmark — it was a celebration of youth-driven diplomacy, leadership, and critical thinking.
The event began with a vibrant opening ceremony, graced by the distinguished Ms. Gayathiri Ekambaram as the keynote speaker. An accomplished legal professional with expertise in constitutional law, international law, and human rights, Ms. Gayathiri has pursued Advanced Studies in International Dispute Settlement at Leiden University, Netherlands, and served as a Judicial Fellow at the International Court of Justice in The Hague. Her speech ignited the spirit of purpose among the young delegates, calling upon them to rise to the global challenges of our times and be the architects of a better tomorrow.
With the energy set high, committee sessions began, bringing to life intense debates, negotiations, and dynamic exchange of ideas on pressing international issues. Delegates showcased not only their diplomatic finesse but also their problem-solving creativity, reflecting the true essence of the United Nations spirit.
Day Two built on this momentum with continued committee discussions, followed by a grand closing ceremony that honoured outstanding performances. Delegates were awarded for excellence, highlighting the importance of leadership, dedication, and vision — values that Youthalic proudly upholds.
This MUN wasn’t just an event. It was a movement — a platform for young minds to engage, express, and emerge as changemakers. Here's to many more Youthalic MUNs to come!
